Quality & Sustainability Manager, Veitchi Group
I’ve spent the last five years working in the construction industry as Veitchi’s Quality & Sustainability Manager; achieving and maintaining certification to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 for our quality, environmental and occupational health & safety management systems as well as leveraging sustainability to create competitive advantage. Along the way, I’ve engaged with social enterprises for material re-use; gained gold membership of the Supply Chain Sustainability School for Veitchi and developed more sustainable solutions for our clients. While my previous experience ranges from SMEs to PLCs in sectors as wide ranging as financial, public, legal, the media and charities.
I’m looking forward to supporting young women in the early years of their careers and empowering them to take their first leap into leadership.
The woman who inspires me most is the US paediatrician, Dr Nadine Burke Harris due to her pioneering work bringing ACEs – Adverse Childhood Experiences – into the public domain. Building on our business partnership with Tigers and using my previous experience as a Training Manager with the BBC, I’ve been developing and delivering sessions raising awareness of the impact of childhood trauma together with tools to build resilience – playing our part in helping Scotland to become the first ACE aware nation.
