Teaching Fellow, Strathclyde University
Justin Beck is a Teaching Fellow in Inclusive Education in the School of Education within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Strathclyde. He is teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate level courses and is Pathway Leader of the M.Ed in Inclusive Education and Module Leader of ‘Inclusive Pedagogy’
Justin has extensive teaching experience working within many different sectors of Education.
He worked within the Early Learning and Childcare sector initially as a ‘Child Development Officer’ and then returning in roles such as ‘Peripatetic Nursery Teacher’ and ’Nursery Teacher in Charge’ after achieving the Standard for Full Registration with the GTCS. Throughout all of his roles, Justin has been a passionate advocate of play, nurture, attachment and connection.
Within his current role in Higher Education, Justin is the School of Education Equality and Diversity Champion, and is currently leading the School of Education LGBT Steering Group – working towards the bronze Charter Mark Award from LGBT Youth Scotland. Furthermore, Justin is a member of the national TransEDU Community of Practice, which brings together staff from colleges and universities across Scotland to share expertise, develop practice, and gain peer support in advancing transgender equality within their institutions.
